Wanda J. Walker passed away Friday, December 7, 2018, at the Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton at the age of 77. She was born on November 23, 1941 to Loyal Walker and Dora (Hoar) Walker on the family farm in Rooks County, Kansas.
Wanda moved to town from the farm in 1954. She attended school in Stockton and graduated from Stockton High School with the class of 1961. She worked at the Ben Franklin store before managing the Frank Walker Senior Center meal site where she worked for 30 years. Wanda enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and being a part of the senior companion program. She also enjoyed her time with her companion of many years, Carl Sander, and her friends and family.
Wanda is survived by her sister Anita Cordill of Rockwall, Texas; brother Verl Walker and his wife Carolla of Folsom, California; and many great and great-great- nieces and nephews.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Loyal Walker and Dora (Hoar) Walker, and her brothers Merl Walker, Leo Walker, and William Walker.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 15, 2018, at 10:30 A.M. Visitation will be Friday, 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. all the funeral home in Stockton. Wanda had a heart and spirit that cared more for others than herself. She showed us every day that the greatest of these is love. Although she will be greatly missed by all who knew her, the celebration of her life and memories will never be forgotten.
