Jetmore – On Thursday, December 20, 2018, Doris Joan (Jody) Moore passed away gently in her sleep at the age of 85. Jody was born on April 7th, 1933 in Ottumwa Iowa, to Ralph Fisk and Mildred (Boyles) Fisk. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1951 and then attended a business college in Ottumwa. On June 1st, 1952 she married Orval Shewry. They had three children, Becky, Pete and Mindy. Orval passed in 1971. In 1988 she married John Moore.

Jody was loved and adored by everyone who met her. Her sense of humor often surprised people. Her compassion and genuine love of life shined as a bright light. Countless friends called her Mom. She was a stranger to no one. She loved animals, especially her sweet Chiquita (who passed a year ago) and her new found buddy Pepper. She had a special place in her heart for apes and monkeys. She made life fun in so many ways.

Jody was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ralph and Richard Fisk and her first husband. She is survived by her husband, John Moore, her brother Don (Joyce) Fisk, and her children, Becky (Jerry) Shaffer, Mindy (Phil) Gehrt, Pete (Kim) Shewry and Brenda Case. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Emily (Tim) Van Antwerp, Orval (Andrea) Shewry, Sara (Kye) Bennis, Steven (Amie) Shewry, Justin (Jinoos) Gehrt, Johanna (Eric) Miller, Morgan Marcos and Travis ( Amy) Case. She had thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
