Deans at Fort Hays State University have named 1,606 students to the Deans Honor Roll for the fall 2018 semester.

The Deans Honor Roll includes undergraduate students only. To be eligible, students must have completed 12 or more credit hours and earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.60 for the semester. Full-time on-campus and FHSU Virtual College students are eligible.

Students are listed alphabetically by county and city, state and city, or country and city with their classifications and, for those who have declared them, majors. This list does not include students who requested privacy.

Students without classifications are students seeking a second degree or are students who, though full time, are not seeking degrees.

LDI Facebook followers select the Love, Chloe Foundation as 2019 winner

LDI presented a $1,000 check to representatives of the Love, Chloe Foundation after they won the 5th annual “Win $1,000 For Your Favorite Charity” Facebook contest. The non-profit organization plans on using the money to further support families dealing with pediatric cancer, and continuous research.

This year was the fifth year for LDI’s “Win $1,000 For Your Favorite Charity” giveaway which included a wide variety of charity nominations; from Animal Shelters to Cancer Foundations. Last year’s winner was the Corgi Connection of Kansas located in Milford, Kansas who used the grant to expand its community impact through education, income and health.

“Each and every charity nominated was deserving and we appreciate all they do for our communities,” said Shelly Macumber, Marketing Director at LDI.  “I was able to meet some of the volunteers and board members of the Love, Chloe Foundation and they are one of a kind.  The support of these compassionate people has played a significant role in supporting families impacted by childhood cancer.”

The “Win $1,000 For Your Favorite Charity” contest was conducted in celebration of LDI’s commitment to serving Kansas through its full-service dealerships, product support and a “doing what it takes” attitude to provide customers with best quality products, parts and services.

SMITH COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a series of reported thefts at nursing homes.

According to a social media report from the Smith County Sheriff’s Department, the two suspects accused of stealing  wallets from a nursing homes in Oklahoma City. They allegedly used credit cards and spent over $7,000.

They are now in Kansas and allegedly accused of incidents at nursing facilities in Wilson and Russell.
