Emil William ‘Bill’ Dupsky III

Longtime Goodland, KS resident Emil William “Bill” Dupsky III, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Goodland Regional Medical Center in Goodland.

Bill was born on March 22, 1943 in Wayne, Nebraska to Emil William and Margarite (Watts) Dupsky, II. He was one of two children.

At a young age, his parents moved to Goodland where he attended school and graduated from Sherman Community High School in 1961. He served in the United States Navy for a short time during the Vietnam War.

After his military service, Bill worked installing telephone lines in Kansas and Colorado. Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator for Dupsky Construction. He also worked for Minerich Construction doing construction work and installing cell phone towers. Later in life, he enjoyed driving Big Rigs hauling grain and freight. Bill’s favorite hobby was watching Nascar racing and visiting the various race tracks. On February 14, 1994, Bill married Shirley Ann Cass in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Preceding him in death were his parents and grandparents.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of the home in Goodland, two sons Travis Dupsky of Fort Morgan, CO and Cooper Dupsky of Fort Morgan, CO; 3 step-sons Ray Dewey (Jamie) Lalicker of Goodland, KS, Dewayne (Lori) Lalicker of Goodland, KS, and Monty (Casey) Lalicker of Aurora, CO; six granddaughters, eight grandsons, six great granddaughters and three great grandsons. He is also survived by brother Ellis Dupsky of Arvada, CO.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM MT at the Goodland Cemetery with Pastor Zach Anderson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be designated to the Goodland Senior Citizen’s Center and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
