GARFIELD – Joyce Ailene Loomis, 85, passed away Aug. 17, 2019 in Wichita.
She was born Aug. 31, 1933 in Marlow, Okla., the daughter of Eligha and Eula Ivey Bratton.
A longtime area resident, she was a homemaker and a school cook. She was of the Christian faith and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Garfield, the over 50 club, Garfield and the country club of Larned.
On April 1, 1950 she married Stanley (Dale) Loomis at Stafford; he preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2002.
Survivors include; three sons, Phil (Ellen) Loomis, Basehor, Bruce (Eileen) Loomis, Macksville, Scott (June) Loomis, Larned; two daughters, Karla (Grant) Youngdahl, Wichita, Kala (Brenda Shawley) Loomis, Lawrence; brother, Jerry Bratton, Alexandria, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eligha and Eula Bratton and her husband, Stanley (Dale) Loomis.
Graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Garfield Cemetery, Garfield with Phil Maltby presiding. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
