DODGE CITY, Kan. – Christin Nunnery’s Hays High Lady Indian volleyball team did not make things easy on themselves but managed to sweep matches over Lakin, Dodge City, and Sublette on Thursday night in Dodge City. The Lady Indians opened up with a three set win over Lakin. Hays dropped the first set, 21-25, and fought back to win the next two sets 25-7, 25-21 to pick up the win.
The next match was a battle with Western Athletic Conference foe, Dodge City. The Lady Indians fell in the first set 24-26 and turned it around to win the second set 25-21. Hays trailed the Lady Demons 19-24 in the third set and scored nine out of the next 11 points to secure the 28-26 set and match win.
The third match did not provide as many dramatics as Hays High easily won over Sublette in straight sets, 25-12 and 25-17. The Lady Indians improve to 6-2 on the season and will be in action next Thursday in Pratt.
