James Wessel, age 49, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 in Wichita County, Kansas. He was born on September 10, 1970 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Charles D. and Katherine L. Durant Wessel. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, James worked for Efrain Prieto , Kelly Conine, Gary Speer and was currently working for Barbie & Mark Wilbur Farming.

He attended the First Baptist Church of Scott City, Kansas.

On July 16, 2011 he married Amy Malchow in Scott City, Kansas. She survives.

Survivors include his one son – Kolemann Patton of Colorado; two stepchildren – Freedom & Braydin; mother – Katherine L. Wessel of Scott City, Kansas; one brother – Kenneth & Toni Wessel of Scott City, Kansas; and one sister – Barbie & Mark Wilbur of Leoti, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his father – Charles D. Wessel.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Scott Lake State Park across from Camp Lakeside.
