The Cleverly family comes from a remote part of the Ozark Mountains, near Cane Spur, Arkansas. They worked on the family farm and at night and weekends, had a picking session.
The Cleverlys family band was born from those sessions.
The group appears tonight at the Hays Wild West Festival, prior to country artist headliner Neal McCoy.
The Hays Post News crew got to talk to the guys before they hit the concert stage. Band members are: brothers Digger, Miles and Vernon Dean, nephew Harvey D. and cousin, Otto.
Digger has been a guitar tech for Leif Garrett and a flute tech for Jethro Tull. Mike plays bass guitar and is road manager. Vernon Dean is on the banjo, Otto lays fiddle and mandolin and Harvey D. is the drummer.
Be sure to tune in Monday to Hays Post News, Eagle Community TV Channel 14, as Amy Baltodano interviews The Cleverlys.
