The FHSU Volleyball Media Guide was the best in NCAA Division II for the second straight year, but edged for Best in the Nation honors this year by NJCAA representative Johnson County (Kan.) Community College. Washburn ranked third, giving the state of Kansas a 1-2-3 sweep nationally in the College Division. In 2011, Prickett teamed with former graduate assistant Doug Self, now Sports Information Director at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, to earn their first-ever Best in Nation honor by CoSIDA for the FHSU Volleyball Media Guide.
This was also the second straight year the FHSU Women’s Basketball Media Guide finished in the top five nationally. The women’s basketball rankings for media guides were nearly identical to volleyball, with Johnson County at the top of the list, Washburn second, and FHSU third, giving the state of Kansas another 1-2-3 sweep. Prickett has gained a top-five ranking for six media guides in his career, which includes volleyball, women’s basketball, and men’s basketball. He has also finished in the top 10 nationally for football media guides.
Jennifer Robinson of Fort Hays State University CTELT designed the covers and all photos in the guides are provided by Mitch Weber, also of CTELT. Fort Hays State University Printing Services printed the guides. The entire layout, including writing and design, of the guide interiors were done by Prickett and Hanson.
Prickett, native of Salina, Kan. and graduate of Fort Hays State, enters his ninth year as Sports Information Director at FHSU in 2013-14.
