KDP Chair Joan Wagnon announced this week that Cecilia Ysaac-Belmares of Kansas City, Kansas will serve the Kansas Democratic Party as the KDP Hispanic

Caucus Co-Chair. Ysaac-Belmares currently serves as both Vice Chair of the Wyandotte County Democratric Party and as Secretary of the KDP’s Third District.
“The Kansas Democratic Party has long enjoyed a strong and productive relationship with the divergent and growing Kansas Latino community,” KDP Chair Joan Wagnon said. “We are confident that Cecilia’s experience as a community advocate and small businesswoman will help deepen and strengthen the bonds that connect Latino Kansans and the KDP.”
A life long resident of Wyandotte County and graduate of the University of Kansas, Cecilia serves as a Commissioner for the Kansas Hispanic & Latino American Affairs Commission. She maintains ties to her community through her membership in MANA de Kansas City, her role as the University of Kansas Medical Center Community Advisor on Latino Health and Research Projects, and participation in the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas Sister Cities program. Cecilia enjoys spending time with her intergenerational family made up of her husband, two children, and father, while still finding time as an entrepreneur and Freelance Interpreter managing an Interpreting and Translation service.
“Community and public service are two values I have long believed in,” said Ysaac-Belmares. “Those values are shared by the Kansas Democratic Party and will guide me in my work as co-chair of the KDP’s Hispanic Caucus. I am excited to start crafting common sense solutions based on the shared beliefs of all Kansans to help make Kansas the best state to live, to work, and to raise a family.”
