Driver injured when car leaves I-70 and hits Tree

A driver’s car left I-70 and hit a tree in a Friday accident. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Seventy-five year old Karl K Leiker of Westfield, Massachusetts was KHPdriving a 2013 Chrysler 4-door passenger car eastbound on I-70, a half mile west of K-156.

The vehicle left the roadway and traveled southeast down an embankment, crossed the culvert and hit a tree where it spun around and landed facing Northwest. Leiker was transported to the hospital in Salina. He was wearing a seat belt.
