A fatal motorcycle accident on Wednesday took the life of a Northwest Kansas man.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Sixty-six year old Robert Petersen of Brewster was riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson on Highway 25 south of Colby. The motorcycle left the roadway into the west ditch. Petersen was ejected from the motorcycle. He and the motorcycle came to rest in a cornfield. Peterson was transported to Logan County Hospital where he died. He was not wearing a helmet.
