A Northwest Kansas man was killed in a single vehicle accident just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Fifty-four year old Duain L Hafer of Atwood was driving a 2006 GMC Sierra westbound on Rawlins County road S, 2.5 miles west and 2 miles north of the K25 and U36 junction.

The vehicle went off the roadway to the south for an unknown reason. Hafer overcorrected and the Sierra crossed the road and entered the north ditch and rolled one and a half times, ejecting the driver. He was transported to Citizens Medical Center in Atwood where he died. He was not wearing a seat belt.
