Hays Police, the Kansas Highway Patrol and Ellis County Sheriff’s Deputies were involved in a search for a suspect at a rural residence near 240th and Feedlot Road on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident started following report of an erratic truck driver on southbound US 183. The truck was reportedly passing cars in areas not designated for passing and driving well above the speed limit.
According to Ellis County Sheriff Ed Harbin, the suspect was not located in the rural location. However, Police did make an arrest in Hays in connection with the case on theft and trespassing charges. No additional details are currently available.
