Hays Larks centerfielder Aaron Cornell is the Jayhawk League Player of the Year. The Oklahoma State signee is one of eight Larks named to the Jayhawk League’s All-League team.
Cornell led the Larks with 44 runs scored and hit a team-high 17 doubles. He was second on the squad with 7 home runs and 33 RBI’s.He’s joined on the first team by second baseman Sean Wilson, outfielder Cody Gougler, starting pitcher Justin Ziegler and relief pitcher Michael Burchett.
Shortstop Elvin Rodrigez, outfielder Jon Ryan and designated hitter MacKenzie Handel were all named to the second team.
The Larks finished second in the Jayhawk League and went 2-2 at the NBC World Series. The finished the season 30-18.
