One person dead, three others injured in a single vehicle accident in Ottawa County late Friday night.
According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a pickup driven by 32-year old Earl Anderson of Mantua Nebraska, was southbound on US 81 south of Rifle Road when he lost control of the pickup to avoid an animal in the road, and the pickup that was pulling a stock trailer went into a ditch and overturned.
18-year-old Samantha Jo Hosie of Abilene, was ejected from the pickup, and was killed.
Anderson, and two other passengers in the pickup, 37-year-old Charlotte Anderson of Abilene, and 20-year-old Tanner Grizzle of Herington, were taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of injuries.
The crash occurred just after 11pm Friday night. According to the report, no one in the pickup was wearing a seat belt.
