A Saturday night ATV accident killed one child and injured another.

According to the Kansas Highway patrol, Two girls were riding a Polaris ATV on a gravel field access road on1390 70th Road about 3 miles North and 2 miles West of Scandia. The girls lost control and rolled the vehicle. Both were ejected.

Mary Hannah Horner, age 8, of Scandia died at the scene of the accident

Hailey M. Robinson, age 9, of Scandia was transported to Republic County Hospital.
