A teen driver and a baby were injured in an unusual accident on Thursday evening.  According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Seventeen year old Crystal Monique Lopez of Dodge City was driving a 2001 Chevy truck northbound on 210 Road, nine miles south of Jetmore when she changed her mind and pulled into a driveway on the east side of the road.

Lopez backed across the highway into the west ditch and over a drainage ditch. The vehicle overturned onto its passenger side facing south in the drainage ditch.

Lopez and a one-year-old passenger Joshua Oscar Bustillos of Dodge City were transported to the hospital in Jetmore. Lopez was wearing a seat belt. The baby was not wearing a seat belt.
