The USD 489 Board of Education is interviewing interim Superintendent candidates today. They will interview 5 candidates.
Rex Bollinger, in his sixth year as superintendent at Doniphan West Schools and Dean Katt, a finalist for an administrator job in Liberal in May are two candidates on this morning’s interview schedule. The names of the additional candidates have not been announced.
According to his bio, Bollinger has served as superintendent for three years at Highland USD 425 and Midway USD 433 prior to their consolidation to become USD 111 in 2009. He came from Mound City, KS where he was a principal for four years at Jayhawk Linn High School of the Jayhawk USD 346 school district. Prior to becoming principal he served as vice-principal for three years and as a teacher for five years. He has also taught two years in the Cameron R-1 school district in Cameron, Missouri.
Katt was the Ottawa USD 290 Superintendent until March when he resigned.
