(AP) — Multiple injuries are reported after a school bus overturned in northeast Kansas.

The accident occurred early Wednesday afternoon in Bonner Springs. A spokeswoman for Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., said the hospital was preparing to receive at least eight children.

TV images showed the bus on its side, with paramedics placing children on stretchers. Other children were walking around.

It was not immediately known which school district was served by the bus, or where it was heading. The accident happened along a ramp connecting Kansas 7 and Kansas 32.

Bonner Springs is in Wyandotte County, Kan., about 18 miles west of Kansas City, Mo.
