An elderly driver was injured in an accident with a semi truck Thursday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol eighty-four year old Ervin E. Koerner of Ness City was driving a 1990 Chevy Caprice south on US 283, a mile from Ness City. A southbound semi truck was passing the Chevy. Koerner turned left in front of the truck.

The Chevy came to rest in east ditch and the semi truck came to rest on the northbound lane of the highway.  Koerner was transported to the hospital in Ness City.

Semi truck driver Wendell Friesen, age 67 of Haviland, Kansas was not injured.  Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
