Tiger Gold on Friday Core 2 Campus Kick-Off event, a collaboration with the Downtown Hays Development Corporation, Hays CVB, TGOF and Eagle Communications to introduce Downtown Hays (Core) to the FHSU Students, Faculty and Staff packed the downtown area Thursday.

The FHSU marching band and University President Dr. Ed Hammond led the march from campus to Main Street.

There was a free hog roast for the first 500 FHSU students and faculty, the TGOF team gave away 500 free t-shirts, and there was a scavenger hunt with participating downtown businesses giving tickets for chances to win $500 cash.

Dr. Hammond mentioned that in the future, the event might be held later in the day so more of the community could participate.
