There have been three confirmed cases of west nile virus this year in Kansas. Those have been in Rush, Atchison and Sedgwick county.

Now the state has confirmed the first death of the year in Kansas from the virus. It occurred in Sedgwick County. The Kansas Department of Health has not released additional details on the victim. Stay tuned to Eagle Radio and check Hays Post for more information as it becomes available
