It doesn’t happen all that often, but a Saline County Deputy delivered a baby Sunday afternoon.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said that deputy Jeremy Trostle responded to a medical call in Brookville about 3:15p.m. and found 20-year-old Amber Falk in labor.

Deputy Trostle with assistance of EMS on the phone delivered the baby boy, which was born premature.

Medics arrived and took both the baby and the mother to Salina Regional Health Center.
