The Hays Public Library wants members of the community to get the most out of their gardens.  Today at 6:00 pm Linda Beech with the Ellis County Extension Office will give a presentation about home canning.  The presentation is designed to teach the public how to correctly can vegetables and fruits.  Beech will provide an overview on the science, equipment and processes of canning.

Kansas Room Librarian Luci Bain told Hays Post that this will be a presentation, not a demonstration.  She stressed that Beech will not be canning during the presentation, but will be providing information and resources to give those in attendance a look at new canning techniques and findings.  All participants will receive a packet of additional resources.

This event is in the Schmidt Gallery at 6pm and is free for everyone.
