Warm and Windy Oktoberfest

A strong cold front will blast across western Kansas this afternoon with cooler and very windy northwest winds of 35 to 45 mph. Ahead of the front, a few severe Screen Shot 2013-10-04 at 4.55.17 AMthunderstorms are forecast, mainly into central Kansas by mid to late afternoon. Overnight lows for the next few nights will dip into the mid to upper 30s. A warming trend follows into next week.

Today Areas of fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Very windy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph becoming west northwest 21 to 31 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 41 mph.
Tonight Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Very windy, with a northwest wind 28 to 33 mph decreasing to 21 to 26 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.
Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. Windy, with a west northwest wind 20 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.
Saturday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 35. Breezy, with a northwest wind 16 to 21 mph.
Sunday Sunny, with a high near 67. West northwest wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.
Sunday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 42.
