A strong cold front will blast across western Kansas this afternoon with cooler and very windy northwest winds of 35 to 45 mph. Ahead of the front, a few severe thunderstorms are forecast, mainly into central Kansas by mid to late afternoon. Overnight lows for the next few nights will dip into the mid to upper 30s. A warming trend follows into next week.
