4h window items — National 4-H Week window display at Northglen Antiques

More than six million young people across the country are celebrating national 4-H Week

That includes Kelli Buxton, a member of the Bits and Spurs 4-H Club.

She’s been busy helping Ellis County Extension 4-H and Youth Agent Susan Schlichting designing a 4-H display in the window of Northglen Antiques in downtown Hays.

Kelli’s projects include cooking, style and her favorite, horses.

Schlichting says 4-H is the largest youth development organization in the world, where members learn leadership, citizenship, and life skills:

This week includes 4-H National Youth Science Day. Schlichting is working with Ellis County students to introduce youth to the importance of geographic information systems (GIS) and geographic positioning systems (GPS) as they design and map their ideal park.
