Local Organization Receives Grant

options logoOptions: Domestic and Sexual Violence Services Inc. based out of Hays has been awarded a $30,000 grant for its victims service programs.  Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt made the announcement today about the grant which was awarded from the Protection from Abuse Fund.

Executive Director Charlotte Linsner told Hays Post the grant provides services to victims throughout the 18 counties in Northwest Kansas that Options covers.  The grant will fund administrative support and supervision of services for victims of domestic violence, stalking, sexual abuse and human trafficking.

“The work of our victims service organizations throughout the state ensures that services are available to crime victims in their hour of need,” Schmidt said. “We are proud to support the work of these organizations through the victims services grant programs in our office.”

The victim services grant programs are funded by state general fund, marriage license fees, district court fines, penalties and forfeitures, county court costs and municipal court assessments.

This year, the Attorney General’s Office awarded more than $2 million in grants to local and state crime victim assistance organizations.
