Despite some on and off rain Monday, Hays work crews collected more than 90% of all curbside “junk” during the first day of the annual Alley Cleanup.

Alley pick-up and some tree limbs collection is also done.

Crews will finish the curbside collection in Zone 3 Tuesday and resume alley and tree limbs.

“The number of people committed to the alley cleanup may vary from day to day,” says Hays Solid Waste Superintendent Marvin Honas.  “So we’re  unable to predict when we’ll be by your residence and the crews do have a time limit per residence.”
