The Hays High girls’ golf team is headed to state for a third year in a row after winning their own 5A regional Monday at Smoky Hill Country Club.
The Indians shot a 408 and wins by 10 strokes over Salina Central. Lexie Schaben led the Indians with a 93 and finished second, 12 shots behind Salina Central’s Allissa Kim. Katie Brungardt was fourth with a 100, Taylor DeBoer sixth with a 105 and Elissa Jensen ninth with a 105.
The 5A state tournament is Monday at the Tex Consolver Golf Course in Wichita.

The TMP-Marian girls’ golf team qualified two for the 3A state tournament. The Monarchs did not qualify as a team, finished fifth at the Tamerisk Golf Course in Syracuse. Monica and Hannah Michaud finish among the top-five from the field of players who did not qualify with a team and advance to the 3-2-1A tourney at the Southwind Country Club in Garden City.
