The storms that blew through the state on Monday evening brought hail and some damaging winds to portions of western Kansas. The National Weather Service reported 1” hail south of Rush Center, in Rooks County north of Damar, in Hodgeman County near Hanston, and almost 2 inch hail in Graham County, west of Nicodemus and in Finney County.
Seventy mile per hour winds were reported north of Jetmore.
Ellis reported receiving .60 of an inch of rain. Four miles west of Hays received .40, and the Eagle Media Center on Hall Street in Hays reported .08.
The official rainfall total at the K-State Ag research center for the past 24 hours .06 of an inch. That is .68 for the month of October and 20.01 inches for 2013.
