On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings this week, Hays firefighters will be practicing the skills needed to mount an attack on a large fire. This training is essential to make sure that the Fire Department can effectively operate to stop the spread of a fire from one building to another during a major emergency.
This training will be conducted at the Kiwanis Park at 17th Street and Harvest Road. For safety reasons, the street will be closed at this location. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this detour.
The public is invited to stop by and watch this training between the hours of 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
The City of Hays remains in a Water Watch. During a Water Watch, the Fire Department reduces its water use for training by 25%. This training is being conducted in compliance with the Water Watch limits.
