
U-S- Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) was in Hays Monday and spoke to the noon Rotary group.
Moran knows his vote to end the 16-day partial government shutdown is not popular with many of his constituents. The former Hays resident explains why he made the decision:
The other Kansas senator, Pat Roberts, also a Republican, voted against ending the federal shutdown.
Moran later shared his thoughts about the visit on his Facebook page.
“I gave remarks and heard from Hays Rotary Club members. We discussed a number of issues including the continuing resolution, debt ceiling, Obamacare, and expanding opportunities for entrepreneurs. Thanks for your frank feedback, which I’ll keep in mind when I return to Washington next week.”
