Roberts: How long until the Healthcare exchanges are right?

RobertsU.S. Senator Pat Roberts today said the President’s reassurances are too little too late given the critical problems with the Obamacare exchange website and the delays in implementation of the entire health care law.

“Six months ago the Democrat authors of the bill knew what we knew all along, there were critical problems with the exchanges being ready to serve the American people as promised. One went so far as to call it a train wreck. Now the President wants more time to get it right. How many more months will this take? January 1 is right around the corner.

“Absent a full repeal of the law, the President should act immediately to delay the exchange and the mandate for individuals just as he did for businesses when their programs weren’t ready.

“While problems persist with the functioning of the public face of the website, what we do not know is how the backend of the exchange site is functioning. And this Administration refuses to answer our questions, won’t testify or give us the statistics. If most Americans can’t even get into the website we should ask ourselves, for those that happen to make it through, what is happening to their information? What are the insurance companies receiving? What information do government bureaucrats have access to? Is private, personal health information secure or accurate? We don’t know, and the Administration refuses to give the Congress and the American people an accounting.”

Senator Roberts is an outspoken opponent of Obamacare. He has called on the Secretary of Health and Human Services to resign.
