The Fort Hays State University men’s soccer team debuted at No. 2 in the Central Region Rankings, released Wednesday (Oct. 23) by the NCAA.
Conference foes Lindenwood and Northeastern State sandwich FHSU at Nos. 1 and 3, respectively, while Upper Iowa ranked fourth.
The Tigers (9-2-1, 4-1-1 MIAA) dropped a 4-3 contest to Lindenwood on the road in the teams’ only meeting this season, but defeated Upper Iowa, 2-1, last weekend at home.
FHSU and NSU drew 2-2 in Tahlequah, Okla., earlier this season and will play again Thursday (Oct. 24) at 7 p.m. in Hays, Kan.
Three of the top four teams in the Central Region are nationally ranked. Â Lindenwood is fifth, while the Tigers and NSU are 17th and 25th, respectively.
