The Hays Police Department has made two arrests connected to vandalism that took place last weekend. Three houses were spray painted with black paint Sunday October 27th between 2:00 am and 5:00 am. According to Lt. Wright of the Hays Police Department, a tip from an involved party led to the arrest of two individuals; 20 year old Angel Ramirez Diaz and 18 year old Landon Dean Stroup, both of Hays.
The criminal damage was done to three residences in the 200 block of Ash Street. Wright said that one house was painted on the front, another house had a small amount on the side, and a third house had a great deal of spray paint on the inside a garage.
Officers conducted interviews at the scene of the crimes. Diaz and Stroup were both arrested later that afternoon in the 100 block of W. 12th St.
A neighbor who wished to remain anonymous told Hays Post that he was working when it happened, but he had heard from others that the incident stemmed from a disagreement at one of the houses that was hit.
“I just heard they had a confrontation over there and that’s what started it. The people that live there got in a confrontation with someone else and that’s who did the spray painting.”

The Ellis County Jail said that a booking photo of Stroup was not available.
