The Ellis County Commission and Hays City Commission are narrowing down a date to hold a joint meeting likely in November. County Administrator Greg Sund says EMS has outgrown its facility in Hays, and funding a solution to that problem is one of the items to be discussed. One possibility is establishing a sales tax when the sales tax for the sports complex sunsets.

Sund says he expects the two commissions to discuss another project as well, expansion of the jail.
