The HaysMed Breast Care Center will become the second facility in Kansas to have digital tomosynthesis equipment.

The Hays Medical Center Foundation has received a $100,000 grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, Logan,  to help fund the purchase of new equipment for the HaysMed Breast Care Center.

The state of the art digital tomosynthesis equipment produces a three-dimensional image of the break and improves cancer screening and detection. It provides a clearer, more accurate view of the breast, allowing doctors to better pinpoint the size, shape and location of abnormalities.

HaysMed will be the second facility in the state, joining the University of Kansas Medical Center to have the mammography technology.

Private donations are still being sought to fund the tomosynthesis haysmed foundation logoequipment.  Those wishing to make a contribution may call the HaysMed Foundation at 785.623.2350.
