The Hays High girls’ golf team shot a 177 to finish second at the Great Bend Invitational Tuesday, eight shots behind Garden City.

The Indians placed five in the top-ten led by Holly Hattan who was fourth with a 5-over 37. Kaycee Beilman was one shot back and finished fifth. Natalie Bethel and Maddie Curry both fired a 46 with Bethel seventh and Curry eighth. Taylor Herman shot a 50 to finish ninth.

The Indians finish second in the final Western Athletic Conference Standings. Kaycee Beilman finishes second in the individual standings, three points behind Garden City’s Mackenzie Thayer who is the WAC Player of the Year for a fourth straight year. Holly Hattan finishes third in the conference, one point behind Beilman. Maddie Curry was fifth. All three were named All-Western Athletic Conference. Natalie Bethel and Taylor Herman receive honorable mention recognition.
