Nixon Leads FHSU Women’s Golf To 15th Place Finish At UCO Classic

The FHSU women’s golf team finished 15th out of 21 teams at the Central Oklahoma Classic in Oklahoma City, Okla. The tournament took place at Lincoln Park Golf Course (East Course), a par-70 layout. The Tigers shot team scores of 316 in both rounds.

Jordon Nixon led the way for FHSU, shooting rounds of 75 and 76 for a 151 total and 27th-place tie. She was seven strokes better than teammate Carmen, who had her best tournament of the year with rounds of 78 and 80 for a 158 total and 70th-place tie. Samantha Nielsen was right behind Thompson in a tie for 72nd with rounds of 79 and 81 for a total of 160.

Kiley Johansen and Samantha Hobson were mirror images of each other in the tournament, each shooting 84 the first day and 80 the second day for a total of 164.

St. Edwards University took home the team title with a total of 577, coming from nine-strokes down on the second day to pass second place finisher Northeastern State, which shot 579. Brenna Moore of Midwestern State won the tournament as an individual in a playoff. She shot a two-under par total of 138, matching Whitney McAteer of Northeastern State who she beat in the playoff.
