Drug investigation produces 18 warrants in NW Kansas

sherman co sheriff badgeGOODLAND — On Friday,  a joint law enforcement operation came to a close in Goodland, according to a press release from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

The joint investigation has been ongoing for the past six months by members of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Sherman County Sheriff’s Office and Goodland Police Department. The investigation focused on the distribution and possession of illegal narcotics, including marijuana and methamphetamine.

The investigation resulted in the issuance of 18 arrest warrants for individuals living in and around Goodland for felony offenses associated with the distribution and possession of illegal drugs, according to Kelly Ralston, KBI special agent in charge.

As a result of the joint efforts, 50 percent of the issued warrants have been executed, and efforts are continuing to bring the remaining balance to conclusion.

Due to ongoing efforts, no names are being released, pending first appearances in Sherman County District Court.
