BOYS: Abilene 66, TMP 64
A 17 point third quarter lead wasn’t enough for the TMP Monarchs as they fall 66-64 in Abilene on Tuesday.  TMP finished the first half on a six to nothing run to take a 12 point lead at the break.  The Monarchs would score the first five points of the second half as well, leading 40-23 with six and half minutes to play in the third quarter.  Abilene would storm back to take a 49-48 lead going into quarter number four.

That’s when the battle really started to sparkle.  Both teams would trade blows throughout the fourth quarter.  Abilene held a two point lead with just over six seconds to go in the game when Kameron Schmidt’s jumper was nearly all the way in the bucket and then somehow popped out at the buzzer.  The Monarchs had five players in double figures but couldn’t pick up the win.  TMP is now 3-5 on the year and will host Russell at the Kennedy Middle School Gymnasium on Friday.
