9:30 a.m. The Great Bend Police Department has released the names of the three people shot Wednesday night in Great Bend. According to GBPD, 23-year-old Hope Huslig of Great Bend was transported to a Wichita hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 30-year-old Larry Norman was treated and released from Great Bend Regional Hospital along with 20-year-old Saedra Walters of Larned.
Police Chief Dean Aikings said it appears all three were injured as the result of a shotgun blast from a suspect who remains at large. Huslig was shot in the chest area while Norman and Walters were injured by shotgun pellets. Aikings said this was not a random shooting and was an isolated incident. Police believe the victims knew their attacker. Aikings said a search warrant was executed last night at an unnamed location but no arrests have been made.
