Girls: TMP 53, Russell 44

Freshman Megan Koenigsman scored 23 points to pace the TMP Lady Monarchs to a 53-44 win over the Russell Lady Broncos on Friday. It was a tight game throughout with TMP leading 10 to eight after the first quarter and 23-20 at halftime. Russell took their only lead of the game early in the third quarter, 27-25. TMP would close the quarter on a 12 to four run and take control of the game.

TMP is now three and six on the season. The Lady Monarchs will be on the road at the Hillsboro Trojan Classic on Monday afternoon to take on Hillsboro.

Boys: TMP 79, Russell 23

TMP started Friday Night’s game against Russell on a 21 to nothing run in the first quarter and never looked back. TMP’s pressure defense and fast breaking offense was to much for the Broncos to handle. The Monarchs held a 50-12 lead at the half, 72-21 after three quarters and scored seven more points in the fourth quarter on their way to a 79-23 win.

Kameron Schmidt led TMP with 26 points. The Monarchs are now four and five on the year and will play Holcomb in the first round of the Hillsboro Trojan Classic on Monday afternoon.
