“I am very excited for Stephen as he departs FHSU to focus full-time on his business,” said Mark Bannister, dean of FHSU’s College of Business and Leadership. “He is nationally recognized for his convergence media skills, and he will leave big shoes to fill.”

Schleicher began teaching at FHSU in the fall semester of 2001 as an assistant professor in the Information Networking and Telecommunications department at the school. In 2006, he was promoted to a tenured associate professor. He took over as chairman of the department in 2009 after Bannister accepted his current position.

Schleicher has helped several students land various accolades, internships, and jobs during his time at FHSU. Under Schleicher’s leadership, KFHS Radio and Television has won several awards at the Kansas Association of Broadcasters annual student seminar. He has also helped several students land internships and jobs with KUSA, the Denver Broncos, Fox Sports as well as several other media outlets around the nation. Recently, Schleicher has held a key role in the creation of the Tiger Media Network, the new student media entity at the university.

Schleicher has also provided content for the Adobe Classroom in a Book Series as well as several other media instruction publications.

The search for a new chair will begin within the next couple of months.
