Lady Tigers cruise to home win

The Fort Hays State Lady Tigers held South Dakota Mines without a field goal for the first 10:38, building a 16-1 lead and defeat the Lady HardrockersĀ 64-39 Thursday at Gross Coliseum. The win improves FHSU to 13-3. The Hardrockers see their three-game win streak come to an end and fall to 6-12.

Mines missed their first 12 shots as the Lady Tigers built a lead as high as 19 in the first half. The Lady Hardrockers used a 10-2 second half run to close the gap to 12 but Alyssa PalmerĀ hit a 3-pointer to spark a 12-3 Lady Tiger run which pushed the lead to 21 and would lead by as many as 30.

Kate Lehman led two Lady Tigers in double-figures with 14 points, nine rebounds and six blocks. Jill Faxon added 10 points and eight rebounds. Kate Edwards scored nine and pulled down 10 rebounds.
