The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said in a news release today that a vehicle sought in connection with the death of a Garden City woman has been located.
The KBI issued an alert on the vehicle, a 1999 Ford Taurus, as part of the investigation of the death of Sherree Kaye Smith, 20, who was found unresponsive at a Scott City hotel Jan. 17 and later pronounced dead.
A Garden City resident reported seeing the Taurus in Garden City on Thursday, and it was taken into custody by investigators.
The KBI and the Scott City Police Department continue to investigate the case, and the cause of death is unknown pending results of the autopsy.
