TMP started Monday night’s 3A Sub-State matchup with Norton on a 13 to two run and rolled from there.  Norton would close the gap to two points, 17-15, at the beginning of the second quarter.  TMP would close the first half on a 14-3 run to pull ahead 31-18 at halftime.

Norton would close the gap to nine midway through the third quarter but the Monarchs would answer with a seven to one run to grab a commanding 42-27 lead heading into the fourth quarter.  TMP continued to expand the lead throughout the fourth leading to the 58-37 win.  Eight different Monarchs scored led by Jordan Gottschalk with 12 points. Deon Lyle paced Norton with 18 points off the bench.

With the win TMP improves to 12-9 on the season and they advance to the sub-state semi-finals to face the Minneapolis Lions on Thursday night at 6pm.  Minneapolis was a 75-44 winner over Hoisington on Monday night.  On the other side of the bracket Beloit took down Ellsworth 76-46 and Lyons defeated Phillipsburg 66-59.  Beloit and Lyons will follow the TMP/Minneapolis game on Thursday.
