A 200-thousand dollar grant recently obtained by the Ellis County Coalition for Economic Development will be used for a new training program.
The grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation will be used to create a 40-hour intensive Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding course in a partnership with NCK-Tech.
ECCED Executive Director Aaron White says the initiative will be geared to regional residents with little to no technical background or education, as well as those who haven’t used that skill set in awhile.
