Civil rights activist Diane Nash and American ’S’hero Diane Nash is scheduled to appear at Fort Hays State University at 7 p.m. March 27 at Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center.

According to FHSU’s Center for Civic Leadership, Nash has been involved in the nonviolent movement since 1959 after experiencing segregation in Tennessee.
In 1960, Nash was a leader of Nashville sit-ins and later played an active role with the Freedom Riders.
Nash’s appearance is part of the university’s celebration of Women’s History Month.
